Everlane Fall Arrivals

While PSLs might be filling up your IG feed, the kind of pumpkin spice I’ve been preferring lately are knits in these gorgeous fall colors! Whether you call it burnt orange or rust or “cider” (like this sweater), I can’t get enough of this color family. Everlane has several new arrivals in these hues that I’ve found to be both petite friendly and nice quality, so I’m excited to continue partnering with them and share recommendations from try ons! 1. Textured cotton cable sweater

This is a delightfully thick and chunky knit, with relaxed cut shoulders, and thick ribbing and textural details on the sleeves. The knit has a semi smooth finish to it and doesn’t feel easily snag prone. The hem is slightly curved and is just a tad longer in the back, and the slightly cropped length works great with mid and high rise bottoms!

Fit notes: TTS. XXS is petite friendly for a slouchy but not oversized look.

2. High rise authentic stretch jeans

Now also in curvy! I got these jeans in mid rise a year ago (see my older post), and they’re hands down one of my most reached for pairs and hold up well through wash, dry and wear. I’ve been wearing a size up while postpartum so am finally replacing it with my current size and in a higher rise. The denim fabric for each wash feels a little different, but my favorite is the “washed black” which has good stretch and thickness.

Fit notes: Both Everlane’s mid and high rise cut is fitted on me with no waist gap, so I’d say these run a little smaller at the waist compared to other brands (online reviewers seem to agree). Their “ankle” inseam is full length on me, and I DIY cut my new pair for a more cropped hem that hits above the ankles.

The listed rise measurement will fluctuate a bit depending on your size, since brands scale patterns accordingly. Their mid-rise authentic stretch denim is listed as 9.5″ rise but actually measures 8.5″ in size 24, and their high-rise pair is listed as 11″ rise but measures 10″ in size 24. Most petite ladies my height may prefer their mid rise, but I’ve been loving extra high rises lately!

3. WASHABLE SILK TIE CUFF SHIRT

If you’re looking to upgrade your wardrobe with a silk blouse, I was super impressed by this one! The knots add a feminine touch, and the blouse is made of their “washable” silk which is a little more matte in texture than traditional silk. Not only is it less delicate to clean, it’s also a little thicker and NOT sheer like the lighter colors in their regular silk! I received this blouse in Rose (very pretty pale pink) and will try to take a fit pic soon, but wanted to share right away while sizes are well stocked. Fit notes: This is probably Everlane’s most petite-friendly silk blouse. It’s a little shrunken in fit all around, and the size 00 is perfect on me! The length hits right at my hips, the 3/4 sleeves end at my wrists like full length sleeves, and the torso is not too blousy.

4. Cheeky straight cut jeans

These are an awesome basic. When cuffed up, I love how these fit like a slim boyfriend jean, but I’d also like them cut shorter as ankle length straight jeans! I can’t decide whether to keep the length and cuff, or cut – let me know your thoughts!

Fit notes: TTS (no waist gap on me). Ankle length recommended for petites to wear cuffed up or cut shorter. For comparison I also tried their “90’s cheeky straight jean,” which were looser at the hips/thighs and didn’t do much for my body type.

5. COTTON MOCK NECK CROP SWEATER

Your everyday light/medium weight cotton mock neck sweater that drapes nicely and feels breathable for layering (see it on me in xxs). The Brass color is what I’d describe as a deep mustard with brown tones, but I think the grey, bone and navy would make solid layering staples! It’s listed as cropped, but works as regular length on my 5′ tall frame.

Comparison notes: If you’re debating between this and Everlane’s popular cashmere square turtleneck (pictured above) avail. in similar colors, the weight and length of these sweaters are very similar. The cashmere square has a slightly tighter knit to it, and is wider, more straight cut in the torso for that intentional boxier look. Also note the cashmere square turtleneck has a wide banded bottom, which was a little harder for me to half-tuck in slouchily.

These photos were taken on a recent visit to our beloved Parlee Farms, where Nori entertained herself by seeing which pumpkin made the best couch (scroll down for pic : ) We’ll definitely be bringing friends and visitors back there this season! Their cut your own flower and sunflower fields were still in full bloom, and there are baby goats at the barn, a mini maze for little ones, hay rides to apple picking, and the best part – delish cider donuts at the Farmstand!
