Waffle Sweater + Petite Faux Leather Pants

I had to jump on IG to rave about these leather-look pants the moment I put them on. If you find the idea of wearing leather leggings daunting, they’re a lot easier to style than you may think and instantly make a plain leggings outfit more chic.

1. Topshop Leather Leggings

I have a small collection of leather-like leggings, and these are one of the best fitting and most pliable and soft compared to the others. They look like a luxe leather pant and are more substantial in weight than a typical legging, so you don’t need to worry about pairing them with a long top to cover up the crotch. At the interior of the waist is a wide elastic band, which was comfortable through sitting for a few hours (forgot I had them on) and visually nips in the waist for a very flattering look.

The feel is truly “buttery soft” as listed, not at all plasticy or squeaky like some faux materials, and they have an even softer lightweight fleeced lining inside.

Fit: The petite length is perfect for me (5 ft tall) for pairing with sneakers and booties. As with most Topshop items, I recommend going one size up – I’m usually a 00P in other brands and these in 0P are a snug fit. At just under $45 they’re a great value for the sale price! In the first photo above the color looks white, but it’s a true cream that will be really nice paired with camel, greys and navy.

2. Long Halogen Blazer

Also in a short style

This is a lightweight, fluid blazer in a crepe-like material nice for looking polished without being too formal. The torso of this blazer is pretty long while the sleeves are gathered and petite-friendly in length. I would prefer this to be a touch shorter, but because of the draping material, it doesn’t look or feel as long as it would in a more structured traditional blazer fabric. This one is unlined with lightly padded shoulders, and is an easy piece for throwing on over jeans or leggings in addition to workwear.

I wanted to show how this outfit can be easily changed up with a pair of flat booties for everyday wear in the Fall, or strappy sandals for a date or girls night outfit!

3. Short Halogen blazer

This turned out to be petite-friendly as I had hoped, with the gathered sleeves fitting as full length on me. The point where the waist nips in and the overall length of this are both shorter than on the long version, making this better proportioned throughout for shorter gals. The sleeves are a little wide on me, but the lightweight fluid fabric helps it look like a normal fit. Like it’s longer sister, this one is unlined with light shoulder padding. While the cut of this one is more petite-friendly, I’d personally wear the longer one more with my casual lifestyle!

4. Topshop Petite Moto Jacket

I have the prior year version of this jacket already so just got this one to try on for fit, to see if it’s changed. I’m happy to report it’s the same as before with a shrunken-fit cut, and is another great value for petites since you won’t need to hem anything or shorten the sleeves. This jacket is a medium-thicker weight with a slightly more more matte, pebbled finish that looks nice in person.

Fit: Topshop’s UK sizing always runs a little smaller than US sizing, so a 0P fits similar to 00 petites in US brands.

5. BP waffle knit sweater

Textured knits make great layering staples, and this one is medium weight with a pretty shrunken fit and semi cropped length. I sized up to XS and am keeping this one, though could have possibly even sized up one more for a looser fit! Shown above with the cream leather leggings, and below with a pair of kids joggers I got 2 years ago since they fit me better than the adults.
