Classic Striped Knits (for both mom + baby!)

Thank you to Banana Republic and ShopStyle for partnering on this post. matching mommy and me spring outfits

On me: Banana Republic sweater xxs petite, slim pant 00P, Edited Pieces shoes 5.5 + necklace
On Rio (18 months): BR Baby sailor sweater 18-24 and barrel-leg utility pant 12-18

Some of you may have noticed last month that Banana Republic launched BR Baby, their collection for little ones with quality staples like chunky knit sweaters and pima cotton separates! Nori and I adore twinning with each other, but more often than not, boys get left out of cute mom & me styles. I was excited to see that BR Baby included a few classic pieces that both Rio and I could get lots of wear out of both together and separately!

Striped Sweaters

This classic preppy sweater comes in both the tan/white combination we’re wearing, and in a navy/white version. The women’s version is 100% organic cotton with a relaxed oversized fit that I love. Some of the reviewers found the fit to be too boxy but this is the style of sweater I’ve been living and a half-tuck in the front makes a difference. It is so comfortable and a great weight that feels substantial without being too thick heading into spring. I’ve paired it with leggings, white jeans, grey jeans + a trench, and also these slim sculptweave pants that I recently picked up. These pants feature a versatile ivory color, wrinkle-resistant medium fabric (note the material has a smooth, slightly coated finish to it), and fit with no waist gap on me.

The sailor-style collar is adorable on the version for little ones. I also want to note that the baby utility bottoms I got Rio run a tad big. I got the sweater in his usual size, but sized down for the pants.

Summer Patterns

This beautiful printed fabric has a gauzy, lightweight feel to it and comes in 2 options for women (a longer maxi and the shorter wrap dress I have on), plus DARLING matching dresses in baby girl sizes 0-3M to 18 – 24M.

For boys, I thought that the coordinating pattern of this reversible bucket hat is a sweet little way to coordinate on family vacation and beach trips without being over the top.

Hi Jean, does the sweater shrink at all in the wash? Trying to figure out my size.

Hi Kathryn, I haven’t machine dried it yet to avoid shrinkage! It’s very oversized in design though so your usual size should work for a similar slouchy look

The front doesn’t pull down because it’s non-stretch cotton but you could untie the front a bit to open it up!
