As many of us have traded heels for flats these days, I wanted to show a few recent outfits that are very comfortable but still feel pulled-together! Everything here is actually not maternity sizing, but happens to be bump friendly
1. Chic Mixed Knits
For meetings, a coffee date, or whenever you want to feel a little more sophisticated! On the bottom left, showing how I often add a hair elastic to a lightweight sweater or tee for a twist-front look (old styling trick from this post). A long trench or knit blazer layered on top always adds instant polish for me, and a printed shoe helps tie together multiple solid neutral colors. I can’t fit into jeans these days, otherwise that would be a comfortable alternative here instead of my ribbed skirt for a less formal-looking outfit!
This longer midi trench coat (see my review) was one of my favorite finds earlier this year. Sizes are running low, but here’s another very similar draped trench in petites on sale!
2. Playful print + platforms
For this in-between Summer to Fall weather, I mixed fabric weights and textures here with a soft, fluffier sweater, a more airy pleated chiffon skirt, and leather espadrilles.
3. Monochrome mom-on-the-go
A very basic outfit, but one that you’re most likely to find me in these days for comfort and practicality! A knee-length dress + duster cardigan creates clean, long lines, and keeping it in the same color family helps it look streamlined. Typically I’d be wearing my staple non-maternity leith ruched dress, but just outgrew it during these last few weeks of pregnancy!
I really wanted a white bump-friendly ruched dress, and while this one isn’t perfect, I’ve been wearing it a ton. I would’ve preferred a better quality cotton material and you do need skin-toned undergarments or shapewear since the white is on the sheer side. I’m always wearing my maternity support shorts anyways which works as a good under layer here. What I DO like about this dress is that the overall fit is pretty good on a shorter frame, including shoulder straps that aren’t too long and neckline not too low – two issues I have with many non-petite tank dresses!

I absolutely love the trench coat on you! Are you able to layer with the xxs petite or is it more snug/fitted? I tried on a petite classic trench coat in xxs but I couldn’t layer underneath it (too tight) and was wondering if the long soft trench one would be the same. Thanks!
Hi Rona, thank you for your kind message! And I’m sorry for the delayed reply – it’s more of a fitted lightweight coat so sizing may be similar to the one you already tried on and couldn’t layer under.

Hi there – yes I’m wearing my normal size, I didn’t size up but you could go a half size up for comfort. They were not the most comfortable in the beginning and needed breaking in for me, I’ve had them for a few years now though!

I have loved all of their bags – great size, durable material that’s easy to wipe clean, and versatile design with the removable crossbody strap. This one is a nice shape too but my one comment is the walnut brown color is harder for me to pair, and black or a true tan would be more versatile.

I love that Uniqlo pleated skirt! Did you have to get it hemmed?
Hi Lynn, I didn’t get this skirt hemmed but it’s old. It’s actually longer but I roll the waistband up sometimes to wear it shorter like in this photo! Uniqlo no longer has a short one like this but the H&M one is a similar length and a great alternative.
